I would love this cookbook, because I am always trying to find receipes that both my husband and I can agree on. I grew up in CA in a vegetarian household and my husband grew up in NY in a meat-eating household - so imagine my difficulty in cooking meals that are both healthy and appealing to a non-health conscious individual.
I would really love this cookbook because my husband and I are doing our best to find a more healthy sustanable way to eat and cook. It's very hard though without recipes! I have found a few food blogs that are wonderful (yours included!) but I would definitly love a resource I could have and use to be more healthful and live and organic, green lifestyle with our daily meals. Thank you for considering me!
Hi Susan.
I would love to win the cookbook, because I don't have any "healthy" cookbooks in my collection, and I am trying to prepare meals using many more salads.
Now the farmers' markets are gone, I am not making as many vegetables. Shame on me.
and I always buy Earthbound Farms bagged lettuces.
Thanks! Stacey
i grew up right near san juan bautista in castroville, california! we used to go there for a big parade around the time of the rodeo, and i still have pictures of me and my sisters in our sparkly mexican dresses! it makes sense for them to write a cookbook about organic foods, since so much produce comes from that area.
I would love to have a copy to expand on my growing collection of all manner of cookbooks, but among the ones I most especially love are those that tempt you to keep them on the nightstand for bedside reading. Just the kind of conversational sharing I like best about food and cooking. Unfortunately I live in a part or the country where Earthbound Farms doesn't distribute its produce, but I wish I did. Keep up the stellar blog, Susan.
I'd love to get this cookbook because I'm a fledgling foodie and I believe that it would help me to experiment more!
I would love to win this cookbook. My boyfriend and I are actively looking for new ways to prepare in season vegetables and ways to eat healthier day to day. We're doing a good job so far, but it's always nice to have more information in our arsenal! bethbader AT gmail DOT com
I would love to add this cookbook to my collection. I am always looking for new healthy recipies for my family.
I remember that persimmon date bread and am betting there are lots of recipes like that I'd love. So I'd really enjoy having this book!
What a cool giveaway! I would LOVE this cookbook because I just switched to an all organic/wholefoods diet for serious health reasons. I need all the help I can get in having insteresting and yummy meals so my hubby will continue to support me :) THANKS!!
Having recently committed myself to eating a more nutritionally dense diet, this cookbook would help me move in that direction. My plan is to eat in the fashion of Michael Pollan and Barbara Kingsolver, my food heroes.
Amazon has great reviews on the book. Also looked at the video and the Earthbound website, which has lots of recipes. This would be a wonderful addition to cookbook collection!
I would love to add this cookbook to my collection.
although I don't live in California, I think this would be a useful cookbook to have. I belong to a CSA and always receive a wide variety of vegetables--usually a few I have never cooked before. This would give me some ideas on how to cook and what to make with these and other vegetables.
If all the recipes are so good like that permission bread then for sure i would love to have this book.
We are stuck in a dinner slump. Needing new recipes to try, this would be a great way to incorporate some delicious ones.
I would love this cookbook as my husband and I are really trying to expand our horizons, yet at the same time to eat healthy!
Do I have a chance as being an over-the-seas reader? :)
That would be the most special piece of my cookbook library... in two ways:
1)organic food&life is almost my business :D
2)and more than this it would be so special to have a gift which I will keep&enjoy for all my life from you :)
I'd love to own this cookbook a) because I can't find it anywhere near me anymore! and b) my family has finally begun to turn the corner on embracing "good food" and making the most of what we have. That persimmon bread doesn't hurt, either :D
I'd like to win because cooking with fresh local California produce is my favorite way to cook, but I'm hopelessly inept when it comes to developing my own recipes.
Hello Susan,
Thanks for this opportunity. I'm fairly new to your blog and really enjoy it so far.
As far as why I'd like to win the book... last fall I was diagnosed with diabetes. I'm comitted to changing my lifestyle, but it's not been as easy as I hoped. Mostly because I'm NOT a foodie at all. This summer I did find a company that delivers foods fresh from the farm, but I have no idea what to do with most of the veggies. I need help. I need ideas. I need inspiration. And after reading the reviews of this book on Amazon, this looks like a great place to start.
Thanks for your consideration. /Sharon
Hi Susan,
This cookbook would be great for me because I am a newlywed who never new how to cool before this wedded adventure. I grew up in a chaotic home and no one ever passed any cooking skills or recipes down to me. I receive all of my dinner ideas from sites like yours and my husband is forever grateful. My husband has IBS so I try to cook the healthiest as possible. This book would be a great help to our family.
Thanks,
Heather
I would love this cookbook as it looks like an amazing cookbook and I would love to add it to my collection. I live near several farmers markets so I am always looking for recipes to use with seasonal produce.
Any book that celebrates freshness and farms is a winner.
I would love the cookbook. Currently tossing arounfd the idea of starting a food blog myself, and maybe this will give me a few good ideas.
I'd love to win that cookbook as I just can't get enough of fresh farm-grown produces!
Cheers,
Rosa
I've tried recipes from several cookbooks, but none from an all-organic one! This sounds just right to begin my venture! plus, when YOU say its Good, means its really good!!:)
Why? Because to receive a cookbook from you would be the pinnacle of my foodie life! And because I could use some more produce in my life :) Are those good reasons?
I read labels when it was considered weird. I started reading labels in earnest 25 years ago. No artificial coloring, flavoring, eschewed preservatives. Bought local; shopped at health food stores. Went to an Earth Day celebration in the 1970s and recycled paper by making school book covers and wrapping paper. I grow my own organic vegggies and I'm looking into joining a CSA next year. Although I'm not as staunch about ingredients, it's still mighty important to me. It's good for the body, it's good for the environment. Always was. Always will be.

I have been pondering buying this cookbook myself. The hubby and I have taken up organic gardening and this would be a great resource. I am always looking for new recipes for fresh ingredients.
Thanks for all of the great recipes and this contest!
I would love to win this book because I love cooking new healthy recipes using
quality ingredients.
I use Earthbound Farms greens quite frequently, and think they are the best pre-washed greens available.
I would love to have this cookbook because I love to make great healthy food and bless others with it.
Susan-
I am a huge fan of your blog and have enjoyed all the recipes I have tried. That said - I have mainly been an on-line recipe cooker and don't have too many cookbooks to speak of.
After reading Michael Pollan's The Omnivore's Dilemma, I have been making an effort to each locally, sustainably and seasonally. This cookbook would be a huge step towards doing this. I have been going to my local farmer's markets regularly and love the beauty and variety of the produce I see, but sometimes just don't know what to do with the abundance and variety of things I see. I would love to use this cookbook to take advantage of the wonderful produce California has to offer.
Thanks!

I would love this cookbook because at the moment the only ones on my shelf are devoted to baking. While you can never have too many cookies, it would probably be good if the rest of my diet consisted of more than some version of "bean medley"!
I would love to have this cookbook so that I would actually have a healthy cookbook! I love looking at my Gramma's old cookbooks and remembering cooking with her and the great meals we had together. Gramma is gone now and we don't eat the way we used to..thank goodness...but I think Gramma would totally aprove of our new healthy way of eating. Its something I'd like to share with my grandaughter.
i would love to win this cookbook because i am a college student and i just recently moved into my first apartment. i love to cook, and being healthy is important to me, but i'm still learning how to cook for myself. this book sounds like it would be great start to a cookbook collection!
i would love a cookbook because i have one, narrow, 5 inch crevice left in my bookcase that may just fit one more cook book ;) and i love looking at the pictures!
Hi, Susan! Thanks for the fun giveaway! I would love to own Myra's cookbook because a) I think Earthbound Farms is fantabulous, b) I am a healthy eater/cooker/human being and would like this wonderful resource to aide me in that life choice, c) the recipes looks tasty as well as nutritious, and I think I could learn a lot from the book, and d) it's fun to get mail! :) Thanks again, and keep on blogging!
Here in San Diego I am trying harder than ever to eat locally and organically so this cookbook would be a great blessing.
An organic cookbook??!!! Ohhhhhh!!! I want one!!! :-)
Oh I forgot to mention why I would like to receive it... just because it is has organic recipes, and I don't have a totally organic cookbook... :-(
I love this cookbook! I have it already, so you don't have to let me be the winner, just wanted to say how much I like it.
ooh, this is so exciting!! sounds like a fantastic book. I just discovered my love of cooking a few years ago and have loved exploring so many new foods! I just need to find ways to use them :) so this would be great!
From the review and summary it sounds like a fantastic cookbook-- I usually suck at thinking up great dishes on-the-fly when I see fresh produce in the market. The book should give me a lot of ideas!
I would love to win this cookbook because I am a young cook and I need guidance!
I would absolutely love this book! Over the last 2 years my husband and I have become very conscious about what we eat, and where it comes from. This looks like a really great cookbook to add to the collection! I'm all about simple, whole, healthy foods.
If Kalyn likes it, so do I! Count me in!
We have taken this book out of the library several times ... to have it on our own cook book shelf would be grand!
I would love to win it because, Myra is my mom's name, and it's very uncommon! I'm a Califronian too :)
OK, I could use some fresh ideas for new meals.
Because I swore to my boyfriend that I would not buy anymore cookbooks this year. Didn't say anything about winning one...
Well, I'm relatively new to the healthy food craze but having 1 adolescent, 2different pre-teens, 1 teen and DH and I who all have slightly different dietary needs, I've started looking for healthy and TASTY ways to get us there while educating my kids at the same time I learn. It's been a challenge to know which recipe books are truly good and helpful and which aren't. Since I bring my kids into the kitchen with me, this seems the best kind of conversational recipe and learning we can all enjoy together!
Thank you for the opportunity, regardless. :)
Becky
ps, I'm on the East coast but have no reason to believe I cannot use this cookbook as a resource to incorporating our own local ingredients.
Beck
I'm looking to have more "slow food" emphasis in my lifestyle and to take advantage of locally grown and produced items in my diet.
Hey Susan...great giveaway. I would love to have this cookbook because I am always looking for exciting ways to liven up mealtimes while striving to eat a healthy and balanced diet:D
That's nice Susan. Sounds like a terrific cookbook. One cannot have too many cookbooks, ever, and California fresh, I'm all for that!
Oh yes Susan...WAY TO GO! I totally deserve it coz I drooled over persimmons at Tartlettes just the other day saying they would exist only in my dreams. Went to the bazaar & found they're being produced locally with Israelli collaboration under a local name. The season is now up, but by the time the book gets to me, the season shall be her!! LOL...I love cookbooks!!! Have a great day !
Hello, my name is Melody and I'm a cookbookaholic!
I am needing a new fix!!! So help a girl out ! lol
Oh Susan I would love to have this cook book! We only eat organics and I am always looking for ways to shake up the plate a little bit. I think this cookbook would help me along!
I would love this cookbook as it is hard to cook good and good for you food that my husband and sons like. I try to include as many veggies as possible in my cooking, but sometimes it just falls short.
I would love to have this cookbook since I don't have any organic cookbooks in my collection and this one would be a welcome addition!! Thanks for having this "give away" Susan!
Thanks for having this Giveaway! I've been getting recipes from blogs and other online sources recently as my partner and I attempt to save money, eat more healthfully, and spend more enjoyable time together by cooking and eating at home. The online sources are great, but I'd love a new addition to my still-very-small cookbook collection. I'm sure it would be a great resource (and, ok, I confess that sometimes, when I don't have a novel I'm excited about nearby, I like reading through cookbooks for pleasure, even if I have no immediate cooking plans.)
Hi Susan,
I would love to win this giveaway because I think the persimmon is the most underrated fruit in California. Each year, I horde my stash of persimmons and search for wonderful recipes to use them all. I would love a cookbook that features a persimmon/date bread!
Cheers,
Ummm ... because I'm addicted to cookbooks?
i trying to cook using more seasonal ingredients and sounds as though this cookbook would be helpful w/ that.
A cookbook on using natural ingredients? Perhaps they should sell this at the farm stand I visited just today. Yes, in November, a few can still be found in California, and I know that I'm spoiled, spoiled, spoiled by that! Given that locally grown ingredients can be found, some new recipes would sure be wonderful!
Susan,
Did you ever know of anyone who loves food and cooking who didn't like a cookbook? And we're vegetarian.
I would love to discover more ways of cooking my vegetables than the ones I'm used to or know of.
And I would love to win something, especially a cookbook.:)
Now you have most of the reasons why I would love to recieve this book.
this is the first time I have posted, but I would be really interested in receiving the cookbook because my husband and I are in a bit of a rut when it comes to our cooking! We are both health and environmentally conscious and very enthusiastic about food and cooking! I am an American vegetarian and he is a British omnivore, so it is tough sometimes to find things that please us both (luckily, the husband is keen on my vegetarian cooking!).
The way to my man's heart is definitely through his stomach and I would like to drive in to his heart in style with a few exotic dishes. (Not that I am not there already):)
I would love to own this cookbook t add to my cookbook collection! I am starting to take more time to cook for both my boyfriend and myself and I think some new healthy recipes would help us going into the holiday eating season! Thanks!
I love Earthbound Farms and their whole story. I sometimes go on their web site, because they have great recipes. I would love this cookbook!
Hello. I hope to win this cookbook. On election day I woke up (for perhaps the first time) wondering what I could do to make my life and the lives of those close to me better. I figure a good place to start is right down the hall in the kitchen. Thanks for the words, recipes and pictures you share.
Anna

I hope to win the cookbook because ever since I came to college, I left behind all my mom's wonderful cookbooks and here I am, with no cookbooks to page through when I'm bored or missing home!
Please?
I love cookbook give aways...I so need this cookbook because I don't have it. I think it's the last one in history that I don't have and I absolutely have to complete my entire collection. It's in my bucket list.
If it gets me recipes to make food like what you make, I must have it. (though does it also have tips for amazing picture-taking?) :-) Love your voting sticker harrassment story, btw - just when you think you've made it through election season... right?
I'm trying to steer away from processed foods, and this cookbook will keep me motivated!
I love to cook, and i love cookbooks.
i'd be graciously happy to get my hands on this cookbook!
I'd love to get this cookbook. I enjoy trying new recipes, especially the ones that are "good" for you.
